⚠ A NOTE ON AGES — SAFETY-CRITICAL
Age limits exist to protect every child's experience.
Children under 2 are not permitted at Open Gym. Our equipment, mats, and structures are designed for developmentally 2+ bodies.
Children ages 2–5 may attend only on Monday or Wednesday during the 5–6 pm slot. No exceptions, even with older siblings.
These limits make Open Gym work. They protect younger kids from age-inappropriate equipment, and protect older kids from session disruption.
✿ COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
How we keep this space sensory-safe — for everyone.
These guidelines protect the experience your child and the community. Please read before your first visit.
01
Supervise your child at all times.
GroWild is designed for active caregiver–child engagement. This is not an independent or café-style play space — your presence is part of the experience.
03
Respect & redirect.
Bring concerns about other kids to staff or to that child's caregiver — do not correct kids who are not yours. Many of our players are navigating invisible challenges and rely on their own caregivers for co-regulation.
02
The child with the highest support needs guides the room.
Activities, music, sound levels, and play intensity are guided by the child in the room with the highest support needs. Sessions can vary greatly day to day — and that's how this space is designed to work.
04
Electronics use is prohibited.
Two exceptions: emergencies and AAC devices. To support engaged, supervised play, we ask parents to put their phones away during sessions.
05
Scent-free environment.
Participants wearing strong perfumes, essential oils, or other heavy fragrances may be asked to return another time. Many of our families have sensory sensitivities, and a scent-free space protects everyone's experience.
Zero-tolerance for hate speech, discrimination, bullying, or aggression — toward children, caregivers, or staff.
— ALSO IMPORTANT —
Do not move equipment. Layouts are set by trained staff for safety and clinical reasons
Age & access rules apply. See the age policy section above.
Food & drink stay at the wood entry. Hands washed before returning to play.
Lost & found held one week, then donated. Personal items at owner's risk.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who violates these guidelines or interferes with the felt safety of our community.
